Penington Institute is seeking an experienced communications professional to join our advocacy team located in Carlton.

Penington Institute advances health and community safety by connecting substance use research to practical action, promoting more effective, cost-efficient and compassionate ways to prevent and respond to problematic drug use.

As Senior Communications Adviser you will be responsible for researching and writing compelling content for use across a range of channels. This will include media releases, journal articles, opinion pieces, proposals and presentations as well as web and social media content. The aim will be to build awareness of Penington Institute and its advocacy work, as well as leveraging engagement opportunities with a range of audiences.

As a skilled copywriter or former journalist, your efforts will contribute to Penington Institute’s campaigns and will help build our brand and reputation among key audiences. Together, we can continue to advocate for better health outcomes for people who use drugs and the broader Australian community.

We are seeking someone who is creative, writes with flair, and is looking to make their mark in this important aspect of public health. You should be creative, hands-on and willing to make a real difference.

We offer a dynamic working environment and are located at the city fringe. The remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
