Our Board Members
Adjunct Professor Scott Wilson is CEO of ADAC, the Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council (South Australia). Scott’s past appointments and leadership positions include Deputy Chair of both the National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Committee and the Alcohol Education Rehabilitation Foundation.
With both professional and personal experience of substance use, Scott has been a valued member of nearly every major governmental and non-governmental committee in Australia for more than 30 years.
Scott has contributed to numerous national committees ensuring Indigenous perspectives are central to mainstream health service delivery, often finding there is an assumption that Indigenous organisations will address the challenges faced by Indigenous people who use drugs.
Scott joined the Penington Institute Board in 2016.
In fact, this group of people [Indigenous people] just fall through the gaps. Penington Institute’s focus in future is about ensuring that the most vulnerable people, including Indigenous drug users and their families, won’t be left behind.
